Bill
My husband is a quiet person who does not blow his trumpet loudly! An ex Royal Air Force man, he just gets on with the job in hand without making a big deal of it. Now enjoying retirement in Scone, he occasionally lectures as a relief tutor, on aircraft engineering, airframes, or instruments at the local Air Training center.

His hobbys are motor bikes, sailing Albacore or Firefly dingies, walking , computers, reading and crossword puzzles.

The favourite motorbike is the Triumph Bonivilles, he has owned three over the years with a short break when we got married and had the children. The latest is a 'P' reg black one with a white faring (which my son hates!) but Bill also ownes a BMW tourer for everyday use. Even in the depths of winter he can be seen pottering down the road on one of the bikes.

Sailing started while he was in Egypt with the RAF. He desided that competitive diving and swimming was too hard work and had the opertunity to crew with some keen sailors! As usual his instincts had him competeing at a high level and soon he was helming with the best and taking part in team events.
For a while he had his Coastal ticket and sailed a Folkboat in Gibraltar, however he was not so keen on the bigger sail boats and soon returned to the busy, wet Fireflys and the team racing.

Here are some of the old bikes and cars he owned over the years, pity we don't have them now!

The Singer, this one actually went round the track in Le Mans
and had a badge to prove it.
Bill blew it up going down the motorway one year!

This one he built from scratch with a little help from his dad.
Ford engine, MG crash- gear box and half a bed stead for a chassis!
It started off red and ended it's life cream.
Well - red pulled the heat in Gibralter.
His dad drove all the way there,
and we drove it back at the end of our tour of duty.
